How to Install expect software package in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus)

expect software package provides Automates interactive applications, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install expect

expect is installed in your system.

Make ensure the expect package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep expect *

You will get with expect package name, version, architecture and description in a table
